We Miss Our Friends

Our friends, the Andres (Tyler, Danielle, and Emree), played a mean trick on us. They became our new best friends super quick and just in time for them to move away! We have been missing them lately but are so excited that they are coming to visit soon! Best Christmas present ever! So in preparation for their visit, I decided to post some pics of them from their time here with us in the OC!

We went to see The Lion King in San Diego for Danielle's Birthday. It was fun to have a night out with just the "adults".

But most of the time we got to hang out at their house and play games, watch movies, eat, and most importantly, play with Emree!

This is my buddy Emree and me the night before they left us! I don't look so cute, but look at her sweet face! Isn't she adorable? She would always crack me up!

LOVE them! Can't wait to see you guys!

Katie's Bachelorette and Wedding Weekends

I got a call from Katie today who reminded me that I have not updated my blog, so I figured I should post something about her! (Really I have been meaning to do this for a while!) Katie has been my best friend since I can remember. I was born 3 houses down from her so I have literally known her my whole life. I can't picture going through anything important in my life without her. We always had a master plan to buy a huge house where her family could live in one wing of the house, mine would live in the other, and the middle of the house would be common area for both families so we could always hang out together and our husbands and kids would be best friends too!

So far we are on track! Katie started dating Mark just after I met Blake. Blake and I got married in March and Katie and Mark just got married in September. Now, if we can just plan the kids to be within a couple of months of each other, we will be good! Here are some pics of our fun wedding weekends!

We went to Santa Barbara to go wine tasting if you can't tell from all the wine in the background and Katie's glasses! The video above is Katie trying to frown. Her sister-in-law can do an awesome frown, Katie.....not so much!

Behind the scenes the day of the wedding. They had this really cute little guest house where we got ready and did all the flowers. Here is the bride hard at work on her big day!

Katie looked so gorgeous! And so was their reception

Katie and Abbey giving big hugs! And Blake dancing with his girlfriends!

Jim and Katie dancing and obviously having a great time! They both looked great! The day went really smooth and was beautiful and everyone had a blast!

My HOT Sister!

It's Lorile's birthday today so I figured I would give her the birthday spotlight with this picture I took of her a couple of weeks ago. Everyone always talks about how pretty Lorile is and I think that this picture totally proves it! The older you get, the prettier you are! Happy Birthday Sexy Mama!

I Love Christmas but.........

Okay, I think this is so funny. So many of you know that i didn't work for about 6 weeks. While I was home I discovered something funny! We don't really use our air conditioning so our windows are always open. I was sitting in our apartment (this was about 5 weeks ago when it was still summer time and super hot) and I hear the ice cream man coming down the street. Shortly after I found myself humming the music that was coming from his truck. Then I started putting the words with the music and realized...It was Christmas music! Not just one song, but every song was Christmas music! I love Christmas so much, especially music and movies. Blake even established a rule in our house that we can't watch Christmas movies until November. I like when the kids come to visit though, cuz they all pick the Grinch to watch every time and he allows it when they are here! Anyways, my point is that I LOVE Christmas, but this seemed a little extreme to me!

Halfway There!

Things are pretty exciting around here since I started my new job and then last week Blake finally made his move to EY after he got hired a year ago! The best part is that he found out that he passed his second CPA exam! Yay! He was so excited and I am so proud of him. The first test he felt pretty confident so he was excited that he passed, but it wasn't a huge surprise. This time was a different story. He was so nervous and was kind of anxious. He still has two to take so he was worried about having to re-take this one. He thought for sure he wasn't going to pass, so this was GREAT news for him. The news came at a perfect time so he could start his new job with confidence and only have to worry about 2 tests instead of 3! YAY Blake!

Long Weekend

We had a wonderful 3 day weekend! Since I get to sit at home and do whatever I want any day, a 3 day weekend doesn't really mean much. But it does mean that Blake gets a day off, which makes me so happy to get to spend extra time with him! We have been having so much fun together and this weekend was no exception! We mostly just hung out and relaxed and spent time with family. On Sunday, Heidi, Abbey, and Alexis came for a sleepover! We made a fort in the family room and watched Camp Rock and the girls stayed in the fort all night. I think we did a pretty good job and it was pretty comfy!

^ Here are the girls snuggling up with Blake on the couch.

^ Then the girls enjoyed what Blake and I call "feets". We lay like this and then rub and tickle each other's feet. Unfortunately for Heidi and me this "feets" session was only one-sided!

So after our relaxation and our fun sleepover, we spent the next morning down at Balboa. We went kayaking, got some cold treats, and played at the arcade.

^Here's Heidi and Alexis in the orange kayak and Abbey and I in the yellow. We strolled around the bay and saw the pretty houses and boats.

^This little guy was so funny! We just missed it with the picture, but he was just cruising along for a long time with his fin out of the water like he was waving to us. If you look close you can see his fin just under the water, cuz he just put it down right before Blake got the pic.
^ The group in front of the kayaks after we returned from our fun adventure.

^ After kayaking we decided to stop and get some ice cream. Abbey and I decided to share the snowcone. That thing was HUGE! We couldn't even finish it with help from Blake, Heidi, and Alexis.

It was a great weekend! Hope yours was too!

One Down, Three to Go!

Dun Dun Dun DUNNNN! Blake received some great news yesterday! He passed the first section of the CPA Exam! There are 4 parts so he is busy studying for test #2 next Friday, but the good news has helped him feel a little more confident and has been very encouraging! He starts with Ernst and Young the end of September so he will be very busy, but is hoping to have the other 2 tests finished by the end of November so he can just focus on tax season after that! Blake is so smart and I am so proud of him and am very excited to see all that he will accomplish in the years to come!
